Unfortunately I'm not that cool... I begged my mom to let me work at Home Depot when I was 12 because I wanted to play with the carpet and tile samples and also recommend paint colors to clients. She always said no because Home Depot had too many paint fumes and it would be unhealthy to hang out there for more than 2 hours daily. One of the guys who worked there felt bad for me because he knew how desperately I wanted to be a Home Depot sales associate. So he gave me a stack of graph paper for interior design and told me to whip up some blueprints for potential kitchens. That's how I used to spend my Sunday afternoons in 2005. Besides that, no, I've never worked a retail job. I used to do volunteer work at the library (shelving books) but I think after a certain point I became so crippled with depression that I stopped showing up. That's how I knew a retail/menial labor job would never work for me in a million years. And I've been broke ever since.
